Basic Guidelines for Emblem Orders

Text is often an essential element of an emblem's design, and can look fantastic when properly executed. Due to the nature of embroidery, however, text must be no smaller than 1/4" in height to be clear and legible. For clear and legible text, keep letters bold and in a basic font.

Swiss Craft patches are applied with a thin clear plastic backing by default. Plastic backing provides rigidity to assure a long life for your emblem. We will automatically apply this backing if you do not request an alternative. Please indicate your preference on this page's form.

Our standard pricing structure allows for up to seven thread colors per emblem. Emblems that use more than seven colors of thread are subject to premium pricing.

Our advice: Avoid thin lines in your artwork. Very thin lines, including capture lines and very thin shading, often can only be represented by a single "running" stitch. While still practical in many applications and unavoidable in others, running stitches have a tendency to detract from the overall cosmetic appeal of otherwise fantastic emblems. While considering an alternative solution for your design, keep in mind that definition can be also achieved with contrasting stitch types and directions.
